“Exemplifying a Young at Heart Spirit”
In Bell’s Corners on Thursday December 15th, Park Lodge Retirement Residence, as part of Community Lifecare Inc., will be presenting a YAH (Young at Heart) award. The award is being presented to Greta McCormick on Dec 15th at 2:00 p.m. Greta exemplifies her Young at Heart spirits through her overall and attitude towards life, she encourages the spirits within others, and she demonstrates a positive outlook on life with her joke telling. Her leadership and advocacy is portrayed by her resident council position. She is trusted for her level head, logical thinking ability to stay calm in a stressful situation. She was the key driver in petitioning our local MP to install a cross walk safety feature for all of the seniors in the area.
Within the Park Community, Greta volunteers with our Tuck Shop, she sits on the Resident Council, she is our Floor Rep (welcome wagon)
Outside of , she is involved with the Ottawa Chapter of CNIB, she is a former line dancer, hula dancer and ukulele player.
Greta has been awarded the YAH award because she exemplifies the concept of Young At Heart. She inspires all of the residents, the staff and volunteers at. She can be seen laughing, loving life and living life to its fullest every moment of the day! At 90 years of age Greta McCormick is still ‘YOUNG’
